Character Name: Angel Dust
Character Age: Died in his early 30s, has been in Hell 80+ years
Character Species: Human (deceased), spider demon
Character Canon: Hazbin Hotel
Canon Point: Pilot for now
Per the Setting
Three Items: One of his six tommyguns (tragic; he'll be mad), a photo of his demonic pet pig Fat Nuggets and one sparkly pink tentacle dildo.
Grounding Item: His room key for the Hazbin Hotel -- useless here, but it'll be a reminder of what he's left behind.
Canon Abilities & Skills: Angel qualifies as a "sinner" type of demon -- he used to be human, and therefore has none of the demonic skills that hellborn like Charlie or even imps and hellhounds have. While some sinners have ascended to Overlord levels (usually correlated to the amount of souls they have under contract), as one of those bound souls, Angel's abilities are pretty simplistic: he can jump pretty high, he can sense oncoming storms (like a real spider) and he can retract up to two of his three sets of arms. He's also fairly experienced with using weaponry (tommyguns are his favorite), and has some hardcore stamina (he does a lot of weird kinky porn).
Glitched Abilities: Any extrasensory abilities will be thoroughly fucked by the glitches, and Angel's usual stamina will come and go, seemingly without any logic. He'll also be minus a lot of his less-than-legal coping mechanisms (read: drugs), so withdrawal symptoms are likely.
Mental Evaluation
(note: cw for drug use, sexual assault, abuse, blackmail, overdose and dub/noncon all throughout here)
General Morals: What morals?
No, but really - Angel was "Anthony" in life, the middle son of a family of organized crime in New York city from the 20s-40s. He eventually overdosed on PCP in his early thirties and ended up in Hell after a lifetime of drug smuggling, violence, murder and general mayhem. At some point he ended up selling his soul to Valentino, a greedy, self-centered, violent moth demon who then made Angel the star of his empire of debauchery. Between live performances, filmed sex work and periodic soliciting on the streets of Hell, Angel has made Val a
lot of money. On the surface, his own morals are in line with his boss's -- Angel likes partying, drugs, alcohol, sex and not answering to anyone. However, he's the first demon to sign up for Charlie's soul rehabilitation project, which hints at the fact that he's absolutely miserable and desperate for an escape. Angel is loud, brash and obnoxious, but he's shown multiple times that he's deeply loyal to his friends (what few he has) and will put his own safety on the line for them. He's much closer to chaotic neutral than true evil of any kind, even at his pilot canonpoint.
Relationship to Trauma: Compartmentalized as fuck. Angel's copes with the misery of his life by numbing himself with substances and risky behavior, deliberately pushing himself to the extremes in hopes of "ruining" himself and losing Valentino's attention. He's the favorite, treated alternately like a beloved pet and an object to be used, with Val using threats, physical violence and, ultimately, Angel's contract to keep him in line. There's a consistent need to drown out whatever anger and fear Angel's feeling on a day to day basis, rather than acknowledging that he's suffering, to the point where he refuses to admit he
has any trauma. He loves his life. Who wouldn't? He's rich and famous and desired and everyone loves him.
Points of Confusion: Considering that Angel's already lived two lifetimes -- as Anthony the human and Angel Dust the demon -- he's going to be very blurry about which one is real. The details will mix up frequently, and he'll start thinking he's still in the hotel or back on earth, or that he's a human instead of a demon. The retractable arms won't help -- sometimes Angel can be very humanoid, which just adds to the confusion. It'll freak him out, but he'll likely play it off as much as he can.
Effects from Daisy: Honestly the idea that Angel had willingly surrendered his autonomy and freedom to a crazy freaky force of power is...very par for the course. He won't buy for a second that he'd done it to "help" in some way, because he's not that altruistic. But if Daisy gets Angel to believe that this is some attempt at redemption, a way to get himself free of Valentino, he might start to believe it. Overall, though, he'd be easily led by anyone around him, and if the vast majority of people say Daisy is bullshit, he'll go along with them. Besides, he's still an eight foot spider demon -- where's the logic in that?
